Narrative

I never had a problem with writing, yeah I procrastinate who doesn't? But once I had an intro I'm all set, I could just keep writing and writing. Narratives are probably one of the easiest pieces of papers to write. There's no right or wrong way, you simply write about you, and no one knows you better than you. Narratives are my favorite, I can usually come up with a story right away that fits the prompt. However, this narrative has me completely stuck. It's just very intimating to me. I think it's the question that's intimating to me, "why did you decide to go into Law Enforcement?" It's a question that I know the answer to because of past experience but I just can't get the right wording out of me. I'm a double major in two completely different subjects, yet they both aim to help the lives of people. For Law Enforcement it's to promote the common good. For Science and Exercise Movement it's for the health of the people. I am born and raised from Chicago, acts of violence is not new to me, I just knew to stay out of it. I have witnessed young boys running for their lives as their being chased from a mob, me myself get followed to and from the gas station, people I grew up with coming in and out the system, my father spending half his life on court, paying thousands and thousands of dollars on lawyers, and missing out on so many opportunities just so they he can get his license back. So many issues going on in our world now that we cannot ignore. I fear for everyone I love back at home because you can never tell what's going to happen. Our system is corrupt, yet we see no real changes being made. I have met so many great people going into Law Enforcement and professors here at Lewis that were involved that I wonder how our system would be if everyone had that passion and determination to make a change in peoples' lives. I'm stuck on this people because I have so many answers that it's impossible to put it on paper. I do not feel secure or protected by the system we have now. It is not a system that I would want my kids someday to live in. I think we can all agree that we live in a messed up corrupt world, but what are we going to do to change those statistics?
